Dubai is known worldwide for its pioneering projects. An impressive example of this is the Palm Jumeirah. Seen from above, the man-made island, built from land reclaimed from the sea, looks like a stylized palm tree.

Even if you are not living on the palm of your hand, the restaurants to be found here, such as Nobu or the 101 Dining Lounge, are definitely worth a visit.
The Palm Jumeirah has an excellent infrastructure with roads, tunnels and public transport, so that you can easily reach the many hotels, restaurants and attractions on the island. If you want to get yourself and your loved ones upset, you can also take the Palm Monorail to the popular Altantis resort.

Another popular option that many private companies offer is to circumnavigate the palm tree on a yacht or speedboat. Adrenaline junkies can even go skydiving over the island.

If you fancy a relaxing evening, head to Club Vista Mare - a complex of seven restaurants built on a pier that juts out into the water. Dining options here include Japanese-Peruvian fusion dishes at Aji and fresh seafood with an Arabic twist at Ibn AlBahr. Both restaurants offer great views of the Arabian Gulf, the Dubai skyline and the magnificent Burj Al Arab.
